Dosember 2024 Summary
Dosember is done for another year! Let's talk about what happened!
We began with signups opening up one month before December. In the end we had a record 312 streamers sign up!
We tried to give a glimpse into the backgrounds of a handful of random streamers. Asking about their connection to DOS gaming and streaming.
FractalMindMike created another amazing merch design for 2024 with our new Dosember mascot!
Another change was a social media presence! We kept everyone up to date on Bluesky and Twitter!
The opening ceremony, hosted by FractalMindMike, had a few guest streamers. We got to talk about all the competitions we had planned and the games we were looking forward to playing! More details here.
We had competitions running throughout the month, with the Scavenger Hunt, Pizza Worm, Ski or Die and Xmas Skyroads!
Also our amazing community set up even more events with @s1ignal creating the Dosember Pixel Jam and @oldskooljay with the Spidersoft Kick-Off Pinball challenge! Check out the results!
@Yormaughm did an amazing job collating data on all the DOS games that were played this year. Have you played all the games in the top ten?
We topped it all off with the Closing Ceremony hosted by FractalMindMike. We got to announce the winners of all the competitions, as well as provide them with certificates and physical prize cups!
Any money collected this year through the merchandise went back into the retro community, funding prizes for the event winners as well as purchasing t-shirts for some Dosember participants!
Finally, we ran a brief feedback survey and got some amazing feedback! There was a lot to work through but we're so grateful that people took the time to respond. It will all be considered going into next Dosember.
